What this is

  1. Bias is the equipment, not the fault.

    You are not a reasoning machine with a glitch. You are a person who takes shortcuts, because taking shortcuts is how anything gets done. Pretending otherwise is the only real error.

  2. Listening is the work.

    Not waiting for your turn. Not gathering ammunition. Actually letting somebody else’s account of things change the shape of your own.

  3. The urge to decide is not information.

    Certainty arrives long before understanding does. When you feel most ready to act is usually the moment to sit down.
